In 2020, pleased with the success of their B2B site, Bradburys commissioned Gravit-e to develop a subscription based B2C eCommerce solution. This new approach to marketing would enable end consumers to order online and choose their favourite products to be despatched on a regular basis, defined by the customer (monthly, bi-monthly, etc.). This personal approach extended to dispatch, payment method and scheduling, all of which were to be decided and created by the customer within the business parameters offered by Bradburys.
Being flexible and customer led, along with easy to use, this feature helps to encourage subscriptions and continue loyalty.
Within the wide range of Bradburys Cheese products, the company has the ability to choose which of these are available for purchase on subscription. When a customer selects one of these products, a slightly different screen is presented giving relevant information and asking for the necessary input.
The process is then very similar to that of a standard order, only with the addition of the subscription requirements being requested.
Once a customer has created their subscription order, they have the ability to log in and access their account. Here they can view and amend the details of their subscription, including payment method, shipping details and scheduling, including the option to pause or cancel the plan. Any changes made result in the customer automatically receiving an email confirmation.
With the subscription set-up, Gravit-e takes care of the rest, generating the orders as scheduled and updating them to the back-office system for fulfilment. The customer then receives automated emails regarding the progress of their orders.
Gravit-e processes the payments as required and in the event a payment is declined by the customer’s bank for any reason, the order will be placed on hold until the situation is rectified.
Gravit-e offers an internal subscription management system by maintaining a database and log of all subscription orders and activity which can be viewed by the Bradburys administrator. Specific subscriptions can be searched using a range of fields (e.g. address, post code, email address) and filters (e.g. status, product, etc.). The administrator can then drill down to the details and make changes, as well as action refunds, suspensions and cancellations.
Behind the front end of the eCommerce site there is a lot of very clever functionality and coding to ensure the subscriptions are managed and processed accurately and quickly while at the same time ensuring that payments are kept up to date and subscriptions continue to function as required whether that be automatic renewal or on requrest.
Both the Bradburys and Cheese Box Club sites are seamlessly integrated to their back-office systems and are hosted on our 24/7 secure and monitored servers. The Gravit-e platform is designed to deliver robust high performance and secure operation to keep online customers coming back.
The Open University Students Association (OUSA) provides students with a range of support services and promotes well-being, empowerment and inclusivity while acting as an effective, accountable representative body for the students. OUSA have been successfully servicing their students with Gravit-e since 2016.
OU Students Shop
OU Students Shop is part of the Open University Students Association. It was established in 1995 to provide a service to OU Students. They are the only body authorised to sell OU branded merchandise and reproduce past exam papers.
